A Tale of Design Innovation: Interiors Home Historical Timeline
Here's a peek at our 50 year evolution as the fashion leader in home furnishings in Central PA and our mission to continuously improve to meet the needs of our local customers. As we look back on our 50 year history we can't help but be excited about what lies ahead!
1969
Interiors Home Founded
Interiors 2000 is founded in Lancaster by Lillian Lehman as a small design shop that offered modern and contemporary furniture. Lillian’s interior design expertise helped homeowners take new and bold challenges in their home designs.
1978
Todd and Gregg Lehman Join
Sons Todd and Gregg Lehman joined the business to assist Lillian in serving the ever expanding customer demand.
1980
Relocation
A devastating fire destroys their building and forces the family to relocate their Lancaster store to it’s current location. The move results in an expanded showroom offering a broader selection of traditional styles, national name brands, and 3 new talented interior designers.
1985
Todd and Gregg Take Over Leadership
Lillian Lehman passes away and Todd and Gregg take over ownership and leadership of the company. Todd becomes the President and along with his leadership responsibilities oversees the merchandising, design, and sales components of the business. Gregg becomes the leader of warehousing, deliveries, and customer service and together, they make the perfect partners to lead, manage, and grow the company. Together they expanded service to Lancaster and York Counties.
1994
Continued Growth
Interiors 2000 doubles their facility to add needed warehouse space and a new Outlet concept that offered affordable, designer-brand home furnishings, and expands their staff of design consultants to 12.
2003
New Name
In order to expand their selection of value priced home furnishings and make shopping easier, the company undergoes a major expansion and adds more Interiors Designers to their staff. Interiors 2000 begins the evolution of their name by dropping the "2000" to more accurately reflect the broad styles they now offer.
2009
New Store
INTERIORS opens their second location in Harrisburg, Pa. in order to serve the customers in the greater Harrisburg, Hershey, Mechanicsburg and Carlisle areas. 6 additional interior designers join the team and help launch the company into greater use of technology to make the home design process easier.
2015
Moving
“Interiors” moves their store across the river to Camp Hill to better serve the greater Harrisburg, Hershey, Mechanicsburg and Carlisle customers. The word “HOME” is added to complete the evolution of their name to accurately reflect their enduring mission and focus.
2019
50 Year Celebration
More than ever, Interiors Home is committed to evolve and innovate to meet the changing demands and needs of our customers. New departments, our latest remodel of our showrooms and improved technology are a reflection of our commitment to provide outstanding value by offering unique products, trained and talented designers and an outstanding customer experience.
2023
New Store
INTERIORS opens their third location in York, Pa. in order to serve the customers in the York areas. 6 additional designers join the team and help launch the company into greater use of technology to make the home design process easier.
2025
Gregg Lehman Retires
After more than 50 years of successfully leading and growing the supporting operational responsibilities of the company, Gregg Lehman retires. During Gregg’s many years of service he was universally respected and loved by fellow employees, customers, and the vendor community. As part of the company’s leadership and succession plan he turns his responsibilities over to the dedicated leadership team for whom he diligently trained and developed to carry on his legacy and values.
2026
A New Chapter Led by Tom Williams
Next steps of a planned and thoughtful company succession plan: After more than 40 years of service as President of the company, Todd Lehman becomes the Executive Chairman of INTERIORS HOME and appoints Tom Williams as the new, and only the third, President of the company’s 57-year history. Todd will continue guiding the long-term vision of the company while Tom will lead all day-to-day operations. Tom’s 25-year tenure in various leadership roles and responsibilities of the company, along with his unwavering commitment to the company mission and core values make him uniquely qualified to take over as President. This leadership transition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to being locally and family owned while continuing to pursue growth and excellence.
