AE-LTD5268-2 – Mallorca Sofa

Adding seating with a softer line, this group springs from a much-simplified version of the classic rolled arm English library sofa. From the beginning, the design conjured the name and a romantic idea of coastal furniture from decades past, a kind of mod and chic island living. I started by redrawing the familiar sofa with a clean, later modern personality, mixing those profiles with a generous, cushioned, fully upholstered shape. Tapered lines and a floating platform base add to the modern look and make the pieces so attractive from all sides, easy to float in the middle of a room. The sofa is joined by a large club chair, a swivel chair, and a stand-alone ottoman that can be used with virtually any seating combination.
